The Avengers’ movie timeline

(via Collider)

Marvel has released a timeline of the events that lead up to The Avengers (click image to enlarge) and demarked Iron Man as a Christ-like figure within their universe (BIM = Before Iron Man, AIM = After Iron Man). The new “official Marvel Timeline” will possibly be featured in Marvel’s new book Avengers: The Art of Marvel’s THE AVENGERS which is currently available at Amazon.

If you’re wondering the timeline doesn’t make mention of future events and only considers The Incredible Hulk canon.

Second Avengers’ post-credit scene

Avengers is a fan’s wet dream. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

Comicbook.com has reported that the second post-credit scene for The Avengers will see the superhero team enjoying some shwarma post-battle following a comment Tony Stark made earlier. The scene is likely exclusive to US screenings of the movie as the screening in Australia certainly didn’t have it.

Now, what thoughts on the guy in the mid-post-credit (that’s what it’s called right?) scene? Here’s my opinion: it’s Thanos. Which, if it is, means Whedon isn’t going to get his “…smaller. More personal. More painful.” sequel. Well, he’ll get the more painful bit, Thanos will make sure of that.

With only a week left (those in the UK, however, will be able to see it from today) before the release of The Avengers histeria is likely through the roof. Guy Pearce joins cast of Iron Man 3; A possible plot for Avengers 3; and more of MIB 3

Variety reports that the Memento star, who will next be seen in Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus on June 8th, is in final talks to join the cast of Iron Man 3. Reports indicate he’s in line to play geneticist Aldrich Killian. It has long been reported that the third installment will be based on Warren Ellis six issue Extremis storyline. The storyline invloves the use of nanotechnology which dramatically changed the strength and capabilities of both Iron Man and Tony Stark. Killian, along with Maya Hansen, hand over this technology to terorists which will require Iron Man to intervene. Continue reading

Captain America Sequel

After his stint with the Avengers this year we’ll see the Captain again on April 4th 2014. The $369 million worldwide box office has certainly earned the first Avenger a sequel. While Joe Johnston, director of the first film, reported that it is possible the sequel may revisit the 40’s, being partly set in the past and present, (a bad idea in my opinion) Marvel has other plans. Current info suggests that the Captain will be spending his time in the present and, like Iron Man 3, the events will follow on from The Avengers. A director has yet not been confirmed.

The Avengers will premiere on May 4th.
