Bill Murray’s rum fueled tour of the Moonrise Kingdom set

(via Collider)

Wes Anderson‘s Moonrise Kingdom premiered to great fanfare last week at the Cannes Film Festival and now a new featurette hosted by Bill Murray, while sampling some Sailor Jerry‘s rum, has been released. The 3 minute featurette is similar to the previously released featurettes. While Bob Balaban’s featurettes could very well have been scripted I’m curious to how much, if any, of Murray’s was. It oozes that dry humour that could easily be his as well as Anderson’s.

Hyde Park on Hudson trailer

(via Collider)

The first trailer of the period drama with a sense of humour has hit the web. The movie, which stars Bill Murray as FDR, revolves around a single weekend in 1939 in which the Roosevelts host the King and Queen of England (Samuel West and Olivia Colman) at their country home Hyde Park on Hudson. Adding to the complexity of international affairs (the Royals are looking for US support if war breaks out in Europe) is FDR’s domestic situation – wife, mother and mistress live under the same roof – for the weekend.

Moonrise Kingdom featurettes

(via rushmoreacademy.com)

4 featurettes for Wes Anderson‘s (The Royal TenenbaumsThe Fantastic Mr Fox) new movie Moonrise Kingdom have hit the web. The movie, set on a fictional New Panzance island in 1965, finds two 12-year-olds, Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward), fall in love and run away together into the wilderness. With various authorities on their trail and a violent storm brewing the once peaceful island is turned upside down.

The cast include Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban. Each featurette focuses on either Willis, Norton, Murray or Anderson himself and has Balaban commenting on the behind-the-scene footage in the familiar off-beat humour Anderson is known for. While the featurettes don’t explain much, if at all anything, about the movie it does give you a general sense of what the feel of the movie will be and, lets face it, if you’ve seen anything by Wes Anderson in the past (with the exception of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) you’re likely to be wanting to see more.
